Thoughts:

Whistle Stop RV Resort is a fairly new RV resort. It is conveniently located along I-20, but road noise is minimal. Trees have been planted, but will take a few years to be large enough to offer shade. The park is kept very neat and tidy. Grass is cut and maintained. There are longer term campers in the park, but the all of the sites are kept clean and clutter-free.

Check-in was easy and efficient. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The gravel roads are wide and easy to navigate. Most of the sites are pull-throughs. We stayed in site 25. Our site parking pad felt somewhat narrow as we pulled in, but was sufficient to park and set-up. It was long enough to park without unhooking our tow car. There is a nice amount of space between sites. There is a nice pool and playground area that includes horse shoes, pickleball and playground equipment. Other amenities include a dog park, laundry facilities and group event pavilion.

We stayed at Whistle Stop RV Resort as an overnight stop, so we did not take advantage of the amenities of the park or have an opportunity to explore what activities Abilene has to offer. We will definitely stay here again when our route takes us in this direction.

NOTES:

The RV Resort is easy to locate and enter when traveling either direction on I-20. Also, access to return to the freeway is easy to navigate.
