Packing for your pets is like packing for kids. Have to be sure to get all the essentials – bedding, food, clothes. Oh, but it doesn’t end there. Just like with kids, you have to pack entertainment and extras of everything, just in case. We took about 2 trips of hauling kennels back and forth before it became clear that having an extra set was the way to go. Our two fur kids are small, so we ordered two of these OxGord 24″ Folding Metal Dog Crate with Divider & Tray . Now the kennels just stay in the coach. If we don’t have the pups with us for a trip, the kennels do fold down flat for storage in the basement. We tried to buy everything that we would need for the girls while on a trip. We purchased extra bowls for food and water, a container for their food, extra beds, bones, toys and leashes. We didn’t purchase extra harnesses because they wear those to the RV from the house. This may all seem like it would be expensive, but there are some things that you can do to save money on these items. For their food, we found a tupperware container at a Goodwill Store that works perfect. Dishes may also be found there. Leashes and collars can often be found at garage sales. The other items can be purchased a few at a time to help spread the expensive out over time. Oh and don’t forget the waste bags for cleaning up on after pets. All parks that we have visited require you to pick up after your pet, even if they have a dog park. Recently, Groupon had a deal for 700 bags and a dispenser for $19.99 plus shipping, so be sure to check for deals online.
