Thoughts:
Lake Livingston/Onalaska KOA is laid out exceptionally well. There are signs that direct you clearly to the office. The roads are wide and smooth. Our site, known as Surfside, is designed as a pull-in site for motorhomes and a back-in side for travel trailers. The lake is immediately in front of our site making for great sunset views. The sites are a nice size with space between them. There is a concrete pad for the picnic table and enough space to park a tow car.
The front desk personnel were very helpful and friendly, both on the phone when I called with a question and in person when we checked in.
There is a camp store and the restaurant on site. We did not go to the restaurant on this visti, but read reviews online that all stated that it is very good. We have added this to our list of things to do on our next visit.
For satellite dish users, we had no problems picking up all three Dish Network Satellites.
What to do once you get there:
A huge draw for us is the location. Travel time from our storage barn to the park is under 2 hours. The roads getting to the park were easy to navigate with the use of google maps.
On our November visit, the weather was not cooperative for outside activities, but it was clear to see that during the warmer months there would be plenty of activities for the family. There is a boat ramp and some other campers tied their boats to the shore in front of their RV. The park information stated that they have boat rentals. The park has a beach area and an area roped off for swimming in the lake. There is a swimming pool and playground with swings and a play structure. All areas of the park are extremely clean and well maintained.
During a future visit, we look forward to putting out our camp chairs around the fire ring, making s’mores and watching the sun set over the lake.
